'Virgin Mary with the Christ Child'

Garbed in a regal robe, the queen of heaven cradles young Jesus in her lap. Mary's silhouette evidences the influence of medieval northern Europe, as does the use of chiaroscuro. Working in the style of the Cuzco school, Luis Angel Barrios recreates a tender tribute to maternal love. Based on the colonial paintings found in the city's convents, Cuzco school works feature religious themes. Titled "Virgen Mar�a y el Ni�o" in Spanish.
